California Sun

In my ever-changing world the consistency of the California sun is a dream come true. With a new year, a new job (I say that timidly) and some big moves in the near future it is always nice to feel the warmth of the sun year round. I haven’t always appreciated the plateau of the California weather, in fact I hated it for sometime, but observing the weather elsewhere I’ve finally come to a point of gratitude. I’ll never hate the rain, but it sure is nice to wear a thin dress in January.

 After my last post I decided that my life had become too full, my time was running too low, and my priorities seemed to be misplaced. So I made the intentional decision to put my blog on an indefinite hold. I thought it would be the easiest to go since it was really just a highly time consuming hobby that just fulfilled my own vanity.

Well, I was wrong. I highly undervalued what this little blog meant to me. I’ve craved it since I stopped (four months ago). I realized to me it was something special. A little place in this world that I could call my own. It has shown me that we put so much value on things that with a return benefit (i.e. money) that we feel guilty enjoying things we do that purely make us happy. I never thought that one of my joys in life would be taking pictures of the things I wear, but hey, it does…. so I’m going to keep at it, because if it makes you happy it can’t be that bad (you can thank Sheryl Crow for that one).

So, hello again…it’s so nice to see you.

So, clearly, Stanley has been my favorite accessory in recent days. I mean, he goes with everything I wear. 

I'm still taking it easy in the wardrobe department because my time is limited, and the most important thing in my life right now is teaching this boy how to bring his ball back. 

I will say, I've been shopping for more casual wear, and finding a lot of success. Buying basics is something I haven't always been good at. I always want to do trendy and "right now" pieces. When I do buy basics it's usually a black t-shirt, or rinse denim jeans. But lately I've been finding a happy medium between boring basics, and trendy pieces. This shirt, for example, is the perfect go to. It's pretty long when it's not tucked in, so I can totally rock it with some leggings and boots. It's light weight for summer, and perfect for layering in the winter. Totally a score!
