My weekend was full of Birthday celebrations!

This look in particular was for a my dear cousin's 13ths Birthday. These photos were taken in my Uncle's garden (full of cobblestone, sunflowers, and grapevines) at his house in La Jolla, San Diego. 

The weather was perfect, the streets were full of beach go-ers and the company was the best (seeing some relatives I haven't seen since I was in diapers...that's a dreadful thought).

As lovely as my weekend was, my Monday some how started with a missing phone and coffee drenched head phones! Oy vey!

Testing Testing....

Hello Wednesday…how did that happen right??

I’m going to keep this one short and sweet because I find I often ramble on about what day of the week it is and how that displeases me.

What please me are these pants I’m wearing. They are a sample of my work, in the most basic form.

I’ve been subject to a ‘wear test’.

That means I receive and get to keep free pants to wear and then describe the fit, (it’s a high point in my life).

Paired with these are a simple tank form Zara. I’m not going to lie, I’m pretty obsessed with the mesh detailing on the shoulder.

A neon belt for some POP, and blah blah blah. You get it.

Bleach Out....

So it goes likes this...if you take a look back THIS post you'll notice some stunningly bright jeans. Oh the heavens were good to me the day I bought those. Then in typical Kellen fashion, I  had a major bleaching incident. I mean, laundry basket full of all my favorite jeans...ruined. DUN DUn Dun.

So, I couldn't leave it at that, I had to turn it into a project. 

These pants being on top of the pile fell victim to the bleach massacre the worst.

My only option in salvation was to splatter some more bleach here and there and even out the hem and waist with a "faded" look.

Ta-Da ...a little tie-dye, a little ombre, a little distressed. I would call this a minor success.

Although, I do have some preeetttty awesome ideas for the remaining victims. Stay tuned!

And so it goes...with a bang! Get it, get it?

I did it, I cut bangs. I've been battling with the idea of getting bangs for some time and I finally took the plunge, and I couldn't be happier. I now have so many ideas for new hair styles that my last look had totally worn out (hint: ballerina bun), and I am very excited to start sharing.

I paired my freshly trimmed fringe with an all over white and black look, adding a BANG with some teal. Get it, get it?? Ok, enough of that.

Family Matters

 I don’t have much to say because it’s Thursday, and I just can’t get my mind off Friday.

I will, however, give you a brief bio on this look I have on here. The orange jacket (amazing right?) was gifted by my Aunt, by gifted I really mean I borrowed it, and by borrowed I really mean I stole it. I have no future plans to ever return it.\

This is probably the most precious item in my closet right now, being Giorgio Armani.  (drooool)

Followed by my fake Louis (the fashion gods are seriously mad at me for that one). 

To make sure all eyes were on this little number I paired it with just about the plainest things I own, Simple blue jeans (H&M) a white tee (Forever 21) and nudes shoes (Forever 21) …see a trend?

Lastly, amplifying the color a bit with my orange H&M necklace. I’m sure Stacey and Clinton are shaking their heads at my ‘matchy matchy’ ways.

Point of my story, thank goodness for aunts with good taste right??

Monday Blues

I recently read a sign at my local pancake hub that read "If you're not shaking, you need another cup of coffee"My new favorite motto, especially today because let's face it, Mondays suck and the only support I have is the handle on my coffee mug. 

That being said, I'm two cups downs and I'm ready to start working...

To note something else that is totally pointless, I was watching the news this morning per usual, and heard a story that started with this

 "As reported earlier on TMC.....".

So KTLA5, I'm done with you.

On to more obvious topics, i.e my amazing chevron high waist knit short...

This look is to entertain both my want for a summer look, and the reality of an ice chilled office.

Plus we have some bigwigs coming into the office today and I was inclined to wear some printed bottoms, being that that's just about all I've been working on since May.

Ok, so I know that this moment has passed but I was so wrapped up in "the moment" that I put blogging it on the back burner (and hot dogs on the front). I'm sure you figured out I am talking about July 4th. What gave it away, the red white and blue?

The shorts I am wearing are my DIY embellished shorts. This project couldn't have been any easier. I bought a yard of the cheapest ruffle at Joanne's and simply sewed it on my shorts. Now that's a permanent solutions. I was also tempted with the idea of Velcro, that way you can remove, and even switched with another material if you so please,but I decided I loved this look so much I'd keep if forever!

My forth was FANTASTIC. Full of food and marvelous festivites. 

I hope yours was just as marvelous.

Hidey Hi...Hidey Low

Today is a mini Friday. Mini because I have tomorrow off and then it's back to work on Thursday.

 My mind is already in vacation mode, and all I can think about is what I am going to wear tomorrow. Usually it would be a go to bathing suit covered by something revealing, finished with some red white and blue (now that's Amurican). However, the weather is supposed to max at a dismal 69 degrees. 

BLAHHH !!!

 There I go again, showing off my big girl words again.

Besides this very disappointing news, I have a fun DIY planned for tomorrow. 

And if you enjoy fun, then you'll have to come back tomorrow and see what I did!

Before I get totally side tracked on tomorrow, there's a post I should probably explain. 

This look above is one that I wore to my BEST friends wedding rehersal! 

Yup, the bitch got hitched.
