Coat and Crop

Top: Zara, Peacoat: VIA, Pants: Heels: ASOS-on sale! Bags: Urban Outfitters, Necklace: Grandmothers Vintage.

I love the fantasy of long hair, but I live for the reality of short hair.  I’ve had my bouts with long hair but  I’ve always weighed heavy on the short side of things.  I think the way you keep you hair when your older has a lot to do with the way you wore it (were forced to wear it) when you were younger. I am the product of my childhood bob.

However, I have been trying to grow out my hair since I last cut it in a major way, but after months (years) of super frying it it’s just not that easy, and it was about time to freshen things up…. so since my best friend & hair stylist moved 200+ miles away I was left with no option than to take matters into my own hands, and by  ‘matters‘ I mean scissors.  It was only a few inches and hardly recognizable to anyone other than me but my self-made hair cut has left me feeling revived, pretty, and kind of makes me feel like I can do anything!
Uh-oh!

Straight Lines

Coat: Topshop- sold out but I love this version and this one too, Top: H&M, Skirt,
American Apparel, Sandals: Asos, Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs (similar style)

This week has presented me with a slew of beautiful opportunities, and even a few unexpected accomplishments. I’m not going to go in to detail just yet (because no body likes a bragger) but I can honestly say that even considering all that, one major highlight was stumbling across this Topshop coat (Topshop is rapidly invading my wardrobe).  Clearly my values are not completely in the right place, but I love clothes (don’t shame me) and I am elated by this recent find…especially because I got it for a serious steal! Another highlight was actually being able to wear it because the temps dropped below 70 degrees-buuurrrrrrr.
Of course I added a skirt as to not overheat, which may be in the same category as shorts and Uggs, but I don’t care because love can make a girl do some crazy things.

XOXO….

Twisted

Skirt: Helmut Lang (similar style here, here, & here), Top: H&M -old (similar style), Shoes: ASOS, Bag: Marc By Marc Jacobs, Necklace: gifted, Watch: Kenneth Cole, Ring:

There is nothing I love more than an awesome maxi skirt. Well that may be a bit of an over exaggeration as I love a few things more, like chocolate, and my dog, but you catch my drift.   This one in particular is currently the wardrobe all star because it borderlines on casual and well put together. And we all know it’s a fairly thoughtless process to throw on a maxi, but this skirt prevents it from looking as such.

On a related topic, I was out the other night in an oversized sweater (This one) and a girl sitting next to me leaned over and said “I’m so jealous, you look so cozy” and left it at that. So, my lesson has been learned, when throwing on a piece that’s easy, i.e. oversized sweater, maxi skirts, beanies, don’t assume you look put together because some people would rather call it cozy than chic.  So in an effort to throw my self together in a more organized manner I’ll always opt for some heels and jewelry to boot.

Happy Thursday!

XO…
