Beach Cruising

I spent the first weekend of summer in the best ways.

 A Friday full of scrabble with my dearest friend. A lazy Saturday in with my dearest boyfriend, and a Sunday full of beach cruising on my new cruiser!

I also acquired a nice sunburn, which is always a true indicator that it's summer time. 

I can already tell it's going to be an amazing summer.

Next up...4th of July.

Red Lips & Blue Jeans

I think it’s pretty clear that my personal style weights heavy on the casual side. 

Even at my girliest moments I like to add something comfortable. In most cases, including this one, it’s a pair of jeans.

I absolutely love dressing up a pair of jeans. It creates a visually appealing look while not forgetting my favorite element; comfort.  It fits in most occasions, like that important meeting at work, or grabbing cocktails with the girls.

Also, there is never a flaw in wearing red lips and blue jeans.

Electric Orange

 The warm weather has me taking a simpler approach on what I pick to wear. A sheer tank, bright pants,and printed sandals make for a an easy foundation. Adding a few layers like a cardigan for the cool breeze, and some lipstick that happens to be a very similar shade to your pants make for a really easy breezy summer look. 

Also, these sandals are the perfect pair when riding my new bike, you heard that right, new bike! I was surprised with one this weekend, and I'm already daydreaming about all the bike rides I'll be taking this summer, and all the outfits that will match accordingly!

Day Dreaming

The other day I was strolling around the mall for reasons other than myself (shocker, I know), and I stumbled across this ASTR skirt, fell in love immediately, and even went so far as trying it on. However, since I had another agenda to attend to I had to resist the urge.

 For the next three days I couldn't get my mind off of it. I kept imagining this skirt with almost everything in my closest, thinking how versatile it was, and what a great basic it would be. 

Essentially, I was rationalizing why I needed to get this skirt. And it worked, because I did, and I don't regret it one bit. 

Additionally, I've already played dress up a few times with it, and my imagination was pretty accurate. It looks great with just about anything (yay!). 

Also, does the bag look familiar? It's the twin to this bag...I only wear it every other post. 

I liked it so much (obviously) I had to get it another color. Another thing I don't regret doing.

Expect to see it....a lot.

Here's an easy look for a busy day. And, in typical Kellen fashion, I couldn't resist the urge to flood this neutral palette with red. A lot of red.

Blunt...

Hey guuyyyys.

So if you hadn't noticed by the two very obvious pictures above, let me tell you what happened. I chopped off my hair. Not all of it, just a lot of it. 

Aaaaannnnd (drum roll)  I love it!

Glitter & Gold

Vest: Forever 21 Top: H&M (old), Pants: Flying Monkey, Hat: Target, Flats:  c/o LeBunny Bleu Espadrilles, Bag:Urban Outfitters

This weekend I was gifted with these LeBunny Bleu Espadrilles, and it took me less than 24 hours to put them to some good use. I used them to dress up an easy breezy look for a Sunday BBQ. It made a few pieces and a simple palette a lot more fun.

I also intend on wearing them for an array of summer activities, like bike riding, walking around the boardwalk, shopping (totally considered a summer activity)… I’m assuming you catch my drift by now.

Speaking of summer, the change of seasons is a great excuse for a new hairdo, so I have some big plans for some big changes. Check out my hairspiration in this monogram mag I made. Let me know your thoughts!
