Pumpkin Picking

Here are few pictures from my pumpkin picking adventure.

I had a really hard time choosing because there were so many cool shapes and color, and I thought I could do something really creative with it.

After being the very last one out of our group to pick a pumpkin, I settled with a regular orange round pumpkin. Then, when it came to carving I made a cat. My plans to be creative went right out the window when I picked up my cutting tool. But cats are cute, so it's ok, I guess.

Although I secretly make it a competition of who makes the best pumpkin, and I clearly lost, I still had a lot of fun enjoying some Halloween festivities with my family.

Grey on Grey...on Grey

Before I begin, can we just ingore the fact that I'm wearing grey pants against a grey wall. Talk about poor planning.

I was planning on wearing this look tomorrow and snapping some pics then, buuuut I've just been dying to wear these tweed and polka dot cuties, and today just felt right. 

The Santa Ana winds have me at a disadvantage though, as this neatly curled hair is going to turn in one ball of gnarly tangles by the end of the day. Oh well, at least the weather is being 

weather-y....weather-y? You get it..

Halloween is upon us and I usually have my look planned weeks ahead of time but this year is definltely not the same. I've  been so busy I've decided to ingnore the fact it's halloween season. 

Therefore; I'm highly ill prepared.

The inevitable Halloween party is tomorrow and I have nothing...not even ideas. OK, some ideas like: A Gothic chick (I already own dark lipstick so it should be easy),or Gwen stefani (note: blonde hair),or a cat (last years costumes) or um...help? What costumes Ideas do you guys have? I could use the help!

The Voice...

Sweater: Rag and Bone , Bag: BDG-Urban Outfitters, White T: F21, Pants: F21, Boots: Splendid

THIS IS THE VOICE! Well, THIS isn’t, but that is the opening line of a favorite show of mine…’The Voice’. It’s one of those lines that once you hear it, you cannot unhear it.

I only bring this up because a few friends and myself were supposed to attend the viewing of a season 4 blind auditions this last Saturday. (note: supposed to)

Equipped with the tickets was a long list of items not to wear; solid white, bright colors, prints…etc. That whole ‘you want what you can’t have’ thing couldn’t be truer. I wanted to wear everything on the list! However, as to not break the rules (those days are long over) I abided and ended up with a simple, yet satisfying look. I was able to wear my new Rag & Bone sweater since the weather permitted chilly attire, as well as my new Splendid booties that were quickly granted the term ‘favorite’.

Well, low and behold, we get to the auditions and it was maxed out. So all that stress of not breaking the rules was a complete waste!

Luckily, despite the minor glitch in the plans, the night turned into something wonderful….

Mix Matched

Good morning Monday!

It's been a weird morning...

I fell asleep to the show "Eating Big Animals-Elephants". (They sure can make a show about anything.)

Well, I fell asleep right at the part where the maggots took over the world, which was super poor choice, because it really distorted my dreams

My dreams went from sideways houses to a girlfriend murdering Justin Bieber.  

Long story short, it's left me feeling at odds, which, I can only assume, is the reason I put this mix matched look together. 

A little sweet, a little edgy, and little all over the place.

A walk in the park...

When I woke up yesterday, and felt the brisk chill in the air, I felt immediately revitalized (I also didn't have a hangover, so that helped).

I was finally able to retrieve my boot collection out from the depths of my closet and sport a pair with out sacrificing my upper lip. I paired  my boots a chambray and chiffon backed top, the chiffon was perfect for letting in that cool breeze.

My boyfriend and I enjoyed the day at one of our favorite restaurants, California Shabu, and then we took a stroll in the park which turned into a roll in the grass. (note first picture).

It was a beautiful day.

#Style Challenge: Fall Colors

It's Friday..which means style challenge!

AND I bought the 12 oz Red Bull in stead of 8 oz.

It's going to be a good day.

This style challenge is 'Fall Colors'.

It's still too hot to wear the layers upon layers I'd prefer to wear, but I thought this plum top and black skirt was a good way to wear fall colors considering the heat.

Colors like Emerald, plum, and burgundy have me drooling, so this top is a current fave of mine full filling my color desires.

It's also perfect for layering a blazer vest (I can't wait to wear it with my fur vest!)

And then you have black. Which is neutral, and neutral is good.

Sky Line...

We're in October now, which totally permits sweaters...right? 

NO? Ok, so I'm in a bit of weather denial.

However, I often find that when it's scorching hot outside, the temperature inside is set at a freezing point to overcompensate. 

What is it about hot weather that makes people think freezing is more comfortable. Because it's not. 

So considering this, my sweater is perfect armor against those merciless thermostats.

Hope your Wednesday is a little cooler...er warmer...er more comfortable than mine!

Welp, another weekend flew by with out much warning. 

I worked a little, shopped a little, dyed my hair a little, and golfed a little (I'm still sore from that one...seriously).

It was an uneventful, yet still very productive weekend. 

The most successful part was these flats I snatch up for $10 at Urban Outfitters.
