Style Challange: Polka Dots!

 

 

 This is the first "Style Challange" I've been faced with that was actually a challange for me.

I've always admired the chic, classic look of polka dots, but when looking through my closet I noticed I had two...only TWO items with a polka dot print. What have I been thinking!

So as those two polka dot printed tops have been tired, I did a last minute DIY. 

I took a shirt that hadn't seen the light of day in some time, made a stencil and sprayed away. There are definitely imperfections, but overall I'm pretty pleased with my newly polka dotted top!  

Pared with a tonal pieces, and a pop of red and I present to you a pretty chic look!

And so it goes...

This week has been busy to say the least. Lots of big career moves.

 I thought to celebrate my good success this week I'd work a little trouser into the mix, with a very feminine tailored eyelet blazer.

It's been an equally strange week as well. 

I've been blind sided at every corner, catching the reflection of a complete stranger with blonde hair.

I've also been polluted with new antagonizing stares and air kisses from those who drive beside me. Now don't get me wrong, I appreciate attention as much as the next fashion obsessed girl, but it will take getting used to when even in my most personal of atmospheres (in my untinted car) I'm being watched..no more nose picking for me! joking, no seriously, that was a joke.

My daring move was nothing less than a serious project, hence the blogging hiatus.

 It's no secret that Coachella isn't only one of the finest festivals to hear the latest and greatest music, it's also the perfect place to show off our latest threads! 

Let's not deny that besides the obvious reason of buying a fairly pricey ticket to the grand music gathering, we're really excited to check out all the fringe, crop top, frayed shorts, gladiator, and fedora wearing that is Coachella!

Now, don't be fooled, it is the perfect place to rock some awesome summer attire, but you must also dress wisely.
Be safe from that blistering sun and protect thyn feet from the rugged and muddy turf. Heels is the first mistake, and not preparing for a scorching day to a chilly night is mistake number two. So be sure to always bring a light cover up for when the sun sets! And sunblock..Lots and LOTS of sunblock.

Summer Tan

I hope all your weekends were full of family, chocolate bunnies, and eggs full of goodies!

Mine was full of of all the above (heavy on the chocolate).

Ever heard of a sugar hangover?

Well, besides all of that goodness, the weather warranted an amazing weekend (and sunburns) as well!

My poor boyfriend was forced by myself to not only lay out, but rub on some tanning OIL.

Lesson learned.

This look was the result of the warm weather, and the beginning state of my summer tan (burn).

Perfect light weight top with some super lax jeans.

A Little Leather

And so it goes, with a little leather.

I'm more than aware that I've probably tired out the whole "collar and sweater" look. I've mixed it with every combination my wallet can bare. I'm not ashamed that I'm not show casing anything new, because I just really adore this look. And by adore, I really mean obssesed. 

It's just the perfect touch to any look. It can make you look sexy and sophisticated, chic and casual, sweet and dominate.

With this being said, I've already decided that this look will be the one that my unborn children will be telling me 20 years from now to give it up.

I'll be in denial similar to all those blue eyeshadow, fluffed bang, shoulder pad (the bad kind) wearing women today.

Yup, I'll be that weird lady that liked one look and stuck with it for 30 years. As if planning to be a weird cat lady wasn't bad enough!

Alright I've said enough...

Tequila Tuesday

It's a personal rule of mine to drink on any day that rhymes with a liquer. 

 And since I don't like to break rules....well you get the rest! 

Until happy hour strikes i'll cheer up on this lackluster day by reminiscing on this past weekend.

My mother's birthday was this weekend,and so was my fathers.  

(That puts a whole new spin on the inconvenience of split parents).

Any who, My sister and I took my mom out for lunch on Friday, and since my sister is a super awesome photographer with a super awesome camera and gadgets I forced her to take a few snap shots. Check out her blog here BCH Photography !

Also, I wanted to show off my super flowy yellow blouse that was gifted to me by Queens Wardrobe!

And so it goes...on that inevitable Monday. Blah to that.

However, I've been astray for far too long. That cruise really took the blogging wind right out of me!

After a week (and a few days) of recovery I finally found the energy to muster up some wardrobe creativity. 

 Plus, It's April! Which means Summer is soon to strike! So I started up this springy month with a  neutral palette in blush hues, and flowy chiffon fabrics.
